Monopodothermoregulation

Word of the Day: Monopodothermoregulation (Noun): The act of sticking a single foot out from under the covers to try to cool yourself down. From the roots mono for one, pod for foot, thermo for heat and regulation for control.  While common in humans, similar behaviours are see in some animals.

Example usage: I saw a swan in the park this morning that was monopodothermoregulating by sticking its foot in the air as it swam by.
